Why We're Focusing More On Conscious Brands
It’s been a minute, so I thought I'd kick off 2022 with a little brain dump on why DTA has decided to shift to becoming a conscious marketing agency who works with like-minded lifestyle, fashion, beauty and health brands or services.
It's fair to say the shift within the business has been happening slowly for the last 18 months. With my personal passion and intrigue for the space hitting its strides about 4 years ago through making subtle changes to my lifestyle which flowed over to my workspace and business.
I've always had a passion for charitable work, being heavily involved in the mental health space long before DTA, from running and participating in events, working for mental health charities and practicing improving my own mental health through a number of holistic practices.
This kickstarted my journey to not only finding alternative ways to nurture my being and lifestyle, noticing the impact that marketing, and particularly social media, played on my own wellbeing and that of the people around me.
From here my passion expanded into products in my home, what I put in my body (don't get me wrong this gal loves a “treat yourself” moment, I just make far more considered decisions on what I consume and where it’s sourced), the activities I participate in, the people I surround myself with, how I treat my body and mind, and who I want to work with.
Sustainable living and lifestyle has really come into its own over the last decade with the likes of Netflix and other broadcasters showcasing documentaries that challenge the way we go about our lives. Social media is becoming the voice of many sustainable brands, educators & thought leaders. It allows for the consumer to be more informed on their decisions, ultimately presenting them with options on how they choose to live their life and the impact they have.
With that said, living a “sustainable life” is more than what our single use plastic consumption is. It's about every aspect of our life, it's about our conscious being.
Which is why I decided to define DTA as a conscious digital marketing agency, we practise conscious decision making, conscious consumption, conscious marketing, conscious collaboration and consciously being. We work with brands and services who incorporate this into their business ethos. Whether this is through reducing their impact on the environment, to implementing give back programs, to educating their community on programs that are changing the landscape for the better, to reducing over consumption, to providing products that improve the wellbeing of the consumer & alike. Those who are doing good.
We then work with these like minded businesses to educate, engage, grow and nurture their communities in a manner that brings them value, reducing the noise in an already noisy landscape.
The conscious space, much like the digital space is forever evolving. As we move through our business lifecycle we too will continue to evolve. It's exciting, it brings us joy, it's ingrained in our daily being and we believe it's the way for humankind to move forward.
Enjoy the ride,
